First use a product for pre-treating the stains if you have one handy and let the hat sit for 10 minutes, then launder it on the cold cycle with regular detergent, but do not use bleach or products marketed as bleach alternatives. Then, keep the hat out of the dryer and allow it to air dry. Washing your hat in the dryer can result in the brim or other parts of the hat being deformed and you should never wash a wool hat.
