Focus on what you can do, rather than what you can’t. Rather than obsessing over the fact that you’re not drinking at this party, maybe put your energy toward making connections with people, checking out the non-alcoholic drinks or food available, the music, etc. If you find that you’re not enjoying being around a bunch of drunk people while you’re sober, then these might not be the people for you. You might enjoy being at a party or gathering where the objective is not centered so much around alcohol.
