My one-year old cat that is not neutered is missing. He is afraid of strangers so if he was stolen, how will he adjust to a new home?

It's interesting you mention a young male unneutered cat, because this is exactly the sort of cat that will take himself off for days at a time looking for a girlfriend. If he is shy of strangers then it would be unusual for someone to be able to get close enough to abduct him. I'd keep your fingers crossed that he's 'out on the town' and will come back when he's ready.
