First of all, figure out what kind of singer you are, what kind of career you'd like, whether it's singer-songwriter, or session singer, or artist, or choral singer. Find someone who does something similar to what you want to do, ask to take them out to lunch, and ask them your questions. That would make it easier on you, so you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time.
