The average lifespan is 9 – 14 years. This is a slightly shorter average compared to breeds of a similar size, because there are so many health problems inherited in the breed. Remember 9 – 14 years is an average, so some unfortunate dogs live shorter than this and die prematurely from heart failure, whilst a few lucky dogs reach beyond 14 years.
