My computer doesn't recognize my DVD any longer. It shows up nowhere, not in Device Manager or BIOS. What should I do?

Open your system and check the power and data cable of the drive, which may be loose or damaged. In rare cases, the drive itself may have a damaged board, in which instance you'd need to replace the drive with a new one.
