Definitely! Start by sanding the pine with 150-grit sandpaper before switching to 220-grit sandpaper. Then, use a tack cloth or cheese cloth to wipe off all the dust. From there, take a damp cloth and wipe the pine to open up the pores. You're now ready to apply the stain!
