For disinfection, I recommend using a fogger and an organic sanitizer, like one made out of tea tree oil. The best practice is to power your air handler off, open the evaporator coil compartment, and spray the evaporator coil and condensate drain with the sanitizer. Just be careful not to wet the electrical compartment.
