To keep fleece soft, avoid ironing it and drying it on high heat or you could damage the fibers. Never use bleach to clean it or it'll become scratchy and could potentially stain the material. If the fibers start to bunch up and form pills, use a disposable razor to shave them off and keep the material soft and fluffy.
