Either you're flossing the wrong way and you're irritating your gums, or you have some kind of inflammation as a result of gum disease. The gum disease may be gingivitis or periodontits, which is just a more aggressive form of gingivitis. When you're flossing and you see blood, it actually means you need to be more consistent with flossing and you need to do it more often. And then you're probably not doing it thoroughly enough. So if you have healthy gums when you're flossing, your gums are not going to bleed. And secondly, if they do bleed because you aggressively floss too hard, then that will heal.
