If you perceive yourself as being smarter than everyone around you (and it sounds like you do), that is why people think you're rude. Be nice and respectful to everyone, even if you think they are "dumb" and no one will accuse you of being rude. Even if you are smarter than a lot of other people, that doesn't make you a better or more valuable person.
