Option 2 : Shapes and patterns
Teaching-learning resources also known as teaching-learning material (TLM) are any collection of things, including animate and inanimate objects, human and non-human resources that will help to achieve desired learning objectives.
- Teaching-learning material for shapes and patterns- The teaching-learning resources for shapes and patterns should be designed in a way that children will be able to recognize and name different shapes, and identify and sort them in their surroundings.
- Rangoli patterns are a fun way to learn about symmetry, shapes, and patterns. They are generally symmetrical in design. They incorporate straight and curved lines as well as shapes like circles, squares, triangles, etc.
- Printed dupattas- Children come across various shapes and patterns in their daily life. Using printed dupattas in a classroom will help children to observe, explore, think and learn various shapes and patterns and this process engages children with emotion and creativity on a cognitive level to integrate and simplify complex learning experiences.
Hence, we conclude that for teaching shapes and patterns Mr. Hari was using pictures of rangolis and printed dupattas to his class.
Whereas, pictures of rangolis and printed dupattas are not appropriate tools for teaching factors and multiples, fractions, and place values.
