Option 2 : Revise a plan
George Polya is known as the father of modern mathematical problem-solving.In 1945, he proposed a book "How to solve it", in which he explains all the four steps.
- According to Polya, the sequence of all the four steps in problem-solving is as:
- Understand the problem
- Devise a plan
- Carry out the plan
- Look back
- Understand the problem:
- Children should put their efforts to understand the problem as to which type of the given problem is.
- Devise a plan:
- Plan a strategy by which the problem gets easily solved.
- Example: Use symmetry, make a list, use the model, etc.
- Plan a strategy by which the problem gets easily solved.
- Carry out the plan:
- Persist with the plan that you have chosen, check each step and if the plan is continuous not working leave the plan and devise another plan.
- Look Back:
- Check the outcome (result) of the problem, and
- look back to see from which steps you get results.
Hence, we can conclude that 'Revise a plan' is not the correct option.
