Option 3 : 12 hr

⇒ A + B + C can fill in 1 hours = 1/6 of cistern

⇒ A + B + C can fill in 2 hours = 2/6 = 1/3 of cistern

⇒ Unfilled part = 1 - 1/3 = 2/3

⇒ 2/3 is filled by A + B in 8 hours

⇒ A + B can fill the cistern in 8 × 3/2 = 12 hours

⇒ we have A + B + C can fill the cistern in 6 hours

∴ C = (A + B + C) - (A + B) can fill the cistern = 1/6 - 1/12 = 12 hours
