The correct answer is option 1 i.e i and iii only.

  • President cannot reject a money bill or send it back for reconsideration to the parliament as it is introduced in Lok Sabha by the recommendation of President himself. Hence statement i is wrong.
  • He can either give his assent to the bill or withhold his assent to the bill. Hence statement iv is correct and statement iii is wrong.
  • A Money Bill can be introduced in Lok Sabha only.
    • If any question arises whether a Bill is a Money Bill or not, the decision of Speaker thereon is final.
    • The Speaker is under no obligation to consult anyone in coming to a decision or in giving certificate that a Bill is a Money Bill. 
  • A Money Bill cannot be referred to a Joint Committee of the Houses.
