From the diagram we know that,
HG = 8 ft
GF = 6 ft
FS = 10 ft
Here, minimum distance is asked. So, we need to find it by Pythagoras theorem.
Using Pythagoras theorem,
(HF)² = (HG)² + (GF)²
(HF)² = (8)² + (6)²
(HF)² = 64 + 36 = 100 ft
