Let height of cylinder and height of cone be 5a and 6a respectively.
Given,
⇒ 5a + 6a = 44
⇒ a = 4
Height of cylinder = 5 × 4 = 20 cm
Height of cone = 6 × 4 = 24 cm
Radius of cone = radius of cylinder = 7 cm
Slant height of cone = √(72 + 242) = 25 cm
Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh
The curved surface area of cone = πrl
Then,
The curved surface area of vessel =
= (2 × 22/7 × 7 × 20) + (22/7 × 7 × 25)
