Based on the application, an Op-amp can be connected to provide:
1) Voltage control current source, in which the output current is controlled by the input voltage.
i.e. I0 = KVi
This relation is useful during the calculation of the Transconductance of the amplifier.
2) Current control voltage source, in which output voltage is control by the input current.
i.e. Vo = KIi and it is useful to calculate the input impedance of the amplifier.
3) Current control current source, in which the output current is controlled by the input current.
i.e. Io = KIi and it is useful to calculate the current gain of the amplifier.
4) Voltage control voltage source in which output voltage is control by the input voltage.
i.e. Vo = KVi and it is useful to calculate the voltage gain of the amplifier.
