Yes, it would leave screw marks in the ceiling that you would have to spackle and repaint. If you didn't screw into a beam, the weight of the furniture would not be supported by the drywall or plaster and that could rip a giant hole in your ceiling. In general, screwing furniture into the ceiling is not recommended.

If you agree to have damaged paint, it is OK. If someday you want to remove it, you will have to remove all the paint because of its tendrils.

Not likely, but just as you can improvise a lighter, you can improvise gloves by wrapping any cloth around your hand a few times.

Walking with light weights is OK. Running/jogging with weight added is not too good for your lower back. The best run training is just to run.
