LPR stands for laryngopharyngeal reflux. It's also known as silent reflux—it's when you're having acid reflux, but it's going into your voice box and airway. Very often, it's reflux that you won't feel, but you might have other nonspecific symptoms, like choking, gagging, or coughing in your sleep.
