When you want to figure out which utensils go on which side, think about the number of letters in each word. "Fork" has 4 letters, the same as in the word "left." "Knife" and "spoon" each have 5 letters, and the word "right" has 5 letters. Then, you just have to remember that the knives go closer to the plate and the spoon is farther away.
