I'm sewing the binding around the edge of a quilt. What do I do when the machine will not sew because of too much thickness?

Check your needle; you may need a needle that is designed for quilting that can cut through many layers. If this does not help, then you may either need a stronger machine, or you may simply have to resort to hand stitching to finish your binding. Pin the binding in place and use a whip stitch on the edge using quilting thread.
