Option 4 : 3600

Let the y be the cost at which wholesaler had bought

According to the problem statement

⇒ y × (1 + 5/100) × (1 + 10/100) = 4158

⇒ y × 1.05 × 1.1 = 4158

⇒ y = 4158/(1.1 × 1.05) = 3600

∴ the cost at which wholesaler had bought is Rs. 3600
