Given :

Total distance traveled = 300 km

Average speed = 50 km/hr

Formula used :

Average speed = Total distance / total time taken

Calculations :

Let the time taken to travel the third part of the journey = x hrs

⇒  Total time = (3 + 1 + x) hrs

Average speed = 300/(3 + 1 + x) = 50

⇒  300/50  = 4 + x

⇒  x = 2 hrs
