When writing sensory information, my best advice is to think about what the characters are feeling/experiencing. What kinds of things would they see? What would they feel, in the physical sense? Repeat those questions for the five senses (some will be used more often than others, but all can be relevant), then think about how the character's emotions would impact what they register. For example, if a character was out on a cold morning, and the atmosphere was intended to be more positive, you could describe how the cold is "refreshing" or "energizing". If you're going for a more negative setting, focus on how the cold is "frigid" or "biting".
