Option 4 : 69 kg

Given:

The average weight of 3 persons A, B, and C is 60 kg.

When D joins the group, the average weight becomes 65 kg.

E whose weight is 3 kg less than that of D replaces A, the average weight of B, C, D, and E becomes 67 kg.

Concept used:

Total = Average × Number of entities

Calculation:

So, the weight of D  = (65 × 4) - (60 × 3) = 80kg

Then, the weight of E = 80 - 3 = 77kg

According to the question,

77 + (60 × 3 - P) + 80 = 67 × 4

⇒ P = 69

∴ The weight of A  is 69kg.
