Option 2 : 112 Km

Given:

speed of water = 15 km/hr

Speed of boat = 25 km/hr

Time = 7 hours

Concept:

Upstream speed = Speed of boat - Speed of stream/water

Downstream Speed = Speed of boat + Speed of Stream/water

Speed = Distance/time

Calculation:

Time taken in downstream + time taken in upstream = 7 hours

⇒ Distance/Upstream + Distance/Downstream = 7 hours

⇒ D/40 + D/10 = 7

⇒ D = 7 × 40/5 = 56 km

total distance = 56+56 (upstream+downstream)

Total distance =112 km
