Try mopping with just water before you use any cleaning agents. As long as you're not oversaturating the floors, water is really great for cleaning most hardwoods. Wring out the mop head well, and avoid using the big spin mops that get your floors super wet. If the floors are particularly dirty, a mild cleaning agent is fine, as long as you dilute it properly with water.
