I assume the above pictures are for illustration only. When doing this you can leave the brake lines attached. You don't need to disassemble the lines or mess with the fluid to change the brake pads. Check your brake fluid levels afterwards, but they should be fuller, as the new pads will be thicker than the worn ones.
