Popularity is based on many different factors, it's important to focus on maintaining a group of close friends who share your interests instead of being in the popular clique. That being said, if you want to make more friends and gain popularity, it's important to be outgoing and social, join clubs and teams and be an active member of your school community. Attend dances, football games etc. You should also maintain good personal hygiene and dress in clean and appropriate clothing.
