Bangabandhu satellite has been one of the greatest achievements of our nation in the 21st century. It was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space company and launched on May 12, 2018 . Bangladesh is the 57th country to launch the satellite. It was launched from Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, United States. It's duration is 15 years and power is six kilowatt. Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission(BTRC) is implementing the project. It will increase satellite connectivity and play an important role in reducing costs. It is a symbol of our country's strides in digital communication. We aim to be a digitalised country and capitalise on that due to the lack of resources and space. We can also use it to earn foreign currency. Therefore it will also strengthen our economy. It is going to have a huge impact on our country's progress and improving the living standards of its citizens.
