যে সকল সম্পত্তির মালিকানা হস্তান্তর করা যায় কিন্তু সম্পত্তি টি স্হানান্তর অর্থাৎ একস্থান থেকে অন্যস্থানে নেয়া যায় না তাকে স্থাবর সম্পত্তি বলে।যেমন ঃ ভূমি,দালানকোঠা ইত্যাদি।
আর যে সকল সম্পত্তির মালিকানা হস্তান্তরের সাথে সাথে সম্পত্তি টি ও স্থানান্তর করা যায় তাকে অস্থাবর সম্পত্তি বলে।যেমনঃ আসবাপত্র,ট্রেড়মার্ক,প্যাটেন্ট ইত্যাদি।
