আমরা জানি, Read এমন একটি Verb যার Present Form,Past Form এবং Past Participle Form এক। তবে "He read the book" বাক্যটি Past Indefinite Tense হবে। কারণ, Present Indefinite Tense এ সাবজেক্ট থার্ড পার্সন সিংগুলার নাম্বার হলে Present Form এর সাথে s/es বসে। কিন্তু "He read the book" বাক্যটিতে read এর সাথে s বসানো হয়নি। তাই "He read the book" বাক্যটি অবশ্যই Past Indefinite Tense হবে।

এই sentence টি Past Indefinite Tense.কারণ এখানে he টা হচ্ছে Third Person Singular Number.Present Indefinite tense হলে এখানে he এর পরে read এর সাথে "S" যুক্ত হতো।আর read এর তিনটে form ই read.

সাবজেক্ট এর পর auxilary verb না থাকলে present tense হয় অতএব He read the book present tense
