যে বাক্যে একটি করে finite ও non-finite verb থাকে, তাকে simple sentence বলে।যেমনঃ He reads attentively to pass the exam.
- যে বাক্যে দুই বা ততোধিক finite verb থাকে তাকে complex sentence বলে।যেমনঃ He reads attentively so that he can pass the exam.
- যে বাক্য দুই বা ততোধিক principal clause(স্বাধীন খন্ডবাক্য) coordinating conjunction দ্বারা যুক্ত থাকে, তখন তাকে compound sentence বলে।যেমনঃ- He went to school and talked with him.
