Introduction
Tymin Syrup 2 mg/5 ml is a first-generation antihistamine that has been used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and urticaria. It is a racemic mixture, containing equal amounts of both the (+) and (–) enantiomers.
Uses
Tymin Syrup 2 mg/5 ml is used to provide relief from seasonal allergies such as hay fever, allergic conjunctivitis, and upper respiratory allergies. Dosage
Adult- Usual adult dose is 4 mg every 4-6 hours, maximum 24 mg daily.
Child-
- 6-12 years: 2 mg every 4-6 hours, maximum 12 mg daily.
- 2-5 years: 1 mg every 4-6 hours, maximum 6 mg daily.
- 1-2 years: 1 mg twice daily.
Below 1 year the use of Chlorpheniramine Maleate is not recommended.
The adult dose of Tymin Syrup 2 mg/5 ml for allergies is 4 mg taken twice daily. For hives, the adult dose is 4 mg taken 3 times daily. For children between 6-12 years old, the dose is 2 mg taken twice daily. For children younger than 6 years old, the dose should be determined by the healthcare provider.
Administration
Tymin Syrup 2 mg/5 ml should be taken orally with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dosage and do not take this medication for longer than recommended by your healthcare provider.
