A person bought some pain killer medicine of two different pharmaceutical companies. He purchased 10 tablets of company A for Rs. 200 and purchased 30 tablets of company B, after the discount of 25%. Total expenses are Rs. 500. What is the Marked price of the (30 tablets)medicine B? Correct Answer Rs. 400

Given:

Purchasing price of 10 tablets from company A are Rs 200,

Discount for company B = 25%

Total expenses = Rs 500

Formula used

Discount amount = Marked price – price of the article after discount

Calculation

Let the marked price of medicine(30 tablets) of Company B be x

Marked price of the medicine(30 tablets) of the company B = x – 25x/100 = 3x/4

⇒ 200 + 3x/4= 500

⇒ 3x/4 = 300

⇒ x = Rs. 400

∴ Cost Price of medicine(30 tablets) of Company B = Rs. 400
