Anil’s age = Amit’s age – 2

Amit’s age after 6 years = 2 × Amit’s present age

Using the concept of the linear equation.

Calculation:

Let the present age of Amit be x years.

Amit’s age after 6 year = 2 × Amit’s present age

⇒ (x + 6) = 2 × x

⇒ x = 6

Anil’s age = Amit’s age – 2

⇒ Anil’s age = x – 2

⇒ Anil’s age = 6 – 2

⇒ Anil’s age = 4 years.

 Anil’s age = 1/8 of his father’s present age

⇒ 4 = 1/8 × His father’s present age

⇒ Father’s present age = 32 years

Anil's father's age after 6 years = 32 years + 6 years

⇒ Anil's father's age after 6 years = 38 years

∴ Anil's father's age after 6 years will be 38 years.
