Two dices are rolled simultaneously what is the probability of getting a total of 5 in both the dices?

Two dices are rolled simultaneously what is the probability of getting a total of 5 in both the dices? Correct Answer 1/9

GIVEN:

Dices rolled = 2

FORMULA USED:

Probability of an event = number of favorable outcomes/total number of outcomes

CALCULATION:

Total outcomes in 2 dices = 6 × 6 = 36

Favorable outcomes = (1, 4)(4, 1)(2, 3)(3, 2) i.e. total 4

P (E) = 4/36 = 1/9

∴ Required probability is 1/9.

No. of outcomes for 'n' dices = 6n
