Given

Average price of four varieties = Rs.45

Average price of 3 varieties = Rs.42 

Formula Used

Average = Sum of observation/No. of observation 

Calculation

let the price of 4th  variety of apple be x 

⇒ 42 × 3 + x = 45 × 4 

⇒ 126 + x = 180 

⇒ x = 54 

∴ the price of 4th variety of apple is Rs 54/kg
