Price of a diamond is directly proportional to the square of its weight. A man broke the diamond accidently in three pieces in the ratio of 4 : 6 : 9 respectively and thus loses Rs. 27,360. What was the original price of the diamond ? Correct Answer Rs. 43320

Given:

Lose due to broken is Rs. 27,360

Calculation:

Actual Weight of diamond = 4x + 6x + 9x = 19x

According to question

⇒ (19x)2 – = Rs 27,360

⇒ 228x2 = 27360

⇒ x2 = 120

Original weight of a diamond = 4 + 6 + 9

Price of a diamond is directly proportional to the square of its weight

Actual weight for price will be

⇒ (4 + 6 + 9)2 = (19)= 361

⇒ Actual price = 361 × 120

⇒ Rs. 43,220

∴ The required answer is Rs. 43,320
