In a dc two-wire feeder, the voltage drop is 4%. What will be the transmission capacity of the feeder? Correct Answer 92%

Concept of transmission capacity of feeder:

  • When the load is connected then both wires become in series.
  • So, the voltage drop across each wire will add up to give the total voltage drop.

Calculation:

Consider two-line L1 and L2 as shown in the figure,

  • As we know that, both wires in series, so voltage drop adds up to give total voltage drop.
  • As per wire voltage drop is 4% so the total voltage drop will be 8%.

Hence, 100% - 8% = 92% voltage will reach at the load end.
