In a college, seats of computers, electronics and mathematics are in ratio 1 ∶ 2 ∶ 3. There is an order to increase the seats. If seats of computers, electronics and mathematics are increased by 20%, 10% and 5%, what is the ratio of seats after increment?

In a college, seats of computers, electronics and mathematics are in ratio 1 ∶ 2 ∶ 3. There is an order to increase the seats. If seats of computers, electronics and mathematics are increased by 20%, 10% and 5%, what is the ratio of seats after increment?  Correct Answer 24 ∶ 44 ∶ 63

Given,

Ratios of Seats of computer, electronics and mathematics in a college = 1 ∶ 2 ∶ 3

Increment in the seats of computer = 20%

Increment in the seats of electronics = 10%

Increment in the seats of mathematics = 5%

Concept used,

If 'a' seats are increased by b%, then total seats = a + {(a × b)/100}

Calculation

Let seats of computer, electronics and mathematics are X, 2X and 3X.

Seats of Computer after increment = X + 20% of X

⇒ X + {(20 × X)/100}

⇒ 120X/100

Seats of Electronics after increment = 2X + 10% of 2X

⇒ 2X + {(10 × 2X)/100}

⇒ 220X/100

Seats of Mathematics after increment = 3X + 5% of X

⇒ 3X + {(5 × 3X)/100}

⇒ 315X/100

Ratio after increment = (120X/100) ∶ (220X/100) ∶ (315X/100)

⇒ 24 ∶ 44 ∶ 63

∴ Required ratio is 24 ∶ 44 ∶ 63

Each question below is followed by two statements I and II. You have to determine whether the data given in the statement is sufficient for answering the question. You should use the data and your knowledge of Mathematics to choose the best possible answer. What is the total number of students in College Z? I. In college Z, 25% of total students are females and number of female students in College Z is equal to the number of male students in college Y. II. In college Y, total number of male students is 700 and 86% of total number of students are female students.
Your network contains 10 domain controllers, 10 member servers, and approximately 1,000 client computers. All the servers run Windows 2000 Server, and all the client computers run Windows 2000 Professional. Two of the domain controllers act as DNS servers. Users of client computers use file sharing to grant access to files stored locally. The network has 10 subnets and uses TCP/IP as the only network protocol. You want to configure the network so that all computers can resolve the addresses of all other computers by using DNS. Client computers must be able to register and resolve addresses if a server fails. How should you configure the DNS servers?
