There are 450 corona patients in the hospital. In the hospital, due to the spreading of the corona, the number of the patient increased by 200. After this, the expenses for the hospital were increased by 4500/- per day while the average expenditure per head decreased by Rs. 120. What was the total initial expenditure of the hospital?
There are 450 corona patients in the hospital. In the hospital, due to the spreading of the corona, the number of the patient increased by 200. After this, the expenses for the hospital were increased by 4500/- per day while the average expenditure per head decreased by Rs. 120. What was the total initial expenditure of the hospital? Correct Answer Rs. 185,625
Given:
Total corona patient in the hospital = 450
Number of patient increased by = 200
Increments in expenditure of the hospital = Rs. 4500 per day
Decrement in the average expenditure of each person = Rs. 120 per person
Formula used:
Average = the sum of all numbers/total number
Calculation:
Total corona patient in the hospital = 450
Let the initial average expenditure of the hospital be Rs. x
The sum of their expenditure = 450 × x = Rs. 450x
Due to the spreading of corona,
Now the total corona patient in the hospital = 450 + 200 = 650
Increments in expenditure of the hospital = Rs. 4500 per day
So now the sum of their expenditure = Rs. (450x + 4500)
Then now average expenditure of each member = (450x + 4500)/650
But there is decrement of Rs. 120 in the average expenditure of each patient
Then,
⇒ x – 120 = (450x + 4500)/650
⇒ 650x – 78000 = 450x + 4500
⇒ 200x = 82500
⇒ x = 412.5
Now the total initial expenditure of the hospital = 450x = 450 × 412.5 = Rs. 185,625
∴ The total initial expenditure of the hospital is Rs. 185,625.
