So, Wife's share = x/2

Remaining amount = x - x/2

Remaining amount =  x/2 - x/14 = 3x/7

2/3 of what was left to his daughters

Daughter's share = 2/3 × (3x/7) = 2x/7

Remaining amount = 3x/7 - 2x/7 = x/7

We are given that the man's dog got the remaining Rs 20000.

So, x/7 = 20000

⇒ x = 140000
