To reach office from his home,
1) Ram drives a car towards North with a speed of 40 km/ hr for 30 minutes.
S = 40 kmph and t = 1/2 hr. So, S = D/t → D = S * T = 40 *0.5 = 20km
2) takes a left turn and drives for one hour (due to heavy traffic, the speed reduced to 30 km/hr). Distance travelled is 30 km.
3) Then he takes left and drives for 10 minutes at the speed of 60 km/hr.
S = 60 kmph → 60 km per 60 minutes → So, in 10 minutes distance travelled will be 10 km.
4) then he takes left and drives for 2 hour at the speed of 15 km/ hr.
S = 15 kmph and t = 2 hr. So, S = D/t → D = S * T = 15 * 2 = 30km
