A purchased a bed for Rs. 32,000, after a year he sold it to B at 8% less of his cost price. B spends extra Rs. 500 on its repair. Then B sold it to C for Rs. X, C requested to get a discount of 10% on that price. But B gave him two successive discounts of 5% and 5% instead of 10%. And because of this B got some extra amount from C but overall less than his cost price, how much extra amount B got?

And because of this B got some extra amount from C but overall less than his cost price, how much extra amount B got? Correct Answer Rs. 74.85
C.P for B = 32000 × (92/100)
C.P for B = Rs. 29440
Now B spent Rs. 500 more, and sold at Rs. X
Now C.P to B = 29440 + 500 = Rs. 29940
Successive discount of 5% and 5% for C
(5 + 5 - (5 × 5) /100)% = (10 - 0.25)% = 9.75%
With successive discount, C.P for C = (100 - 9.75)% × 29940 = (90.25/100) × 29940 = 27020.85
With Discount of 10%, C.P for C = (90/100) × 29940 = Rs. 26946
It is given that B sold the bed to C at two successive discount prices
So, S.P of bed finally for B = 27020.85
According to the question
∴ Difference of the two S.P at different discount = 27020.85 - 26946 = Rs.74.85
