A container contains 50 litre of alcohol, from this container 5 litres of alcohol was taken and replace with water. How much alcohol is there in the container if this process is repeated for four times? Correct Answer 32.805 lit
Let container contains a unit of pure liquid from which b units are taken out and replaced with water.
For n operations,
⇒ Quantity of pure liquid remains = a{1 – (b/a)}N
Given,
⇒ a = 50 litre
⇒ b = 5 litre
⇒ N = 4
⇒ Quality of alcohol remains after replacement = 50 × {1 – (5/50)}4 = 32.805
∴ Quantity of pure alcohol remaining in the container is 32.805 litre
