Type 1 workers are 2.5 times efficient than Type 2 workers. Twelve Type 1 workers can complete a task in 10 days. How many days would be taken 4 Type 1 and 15 Type 2 workers to do the same work? Correct Answer 12

Given,

Twelve Type1 workers completed in 10 days.

⇒ One Type 1 worker will complete in 12 × 10 = 120 days

Type 1 worker are 2.5 time as efficient as Type 2 workers,

⇒ One type 2 worker complete in = 2.5 × 120 = 300 days

⇒ One Type 1 worker 1 day's work = 1/120

⇒ One type 2 worker 1 day’s work = 1/300

⇒ Four Type 1 workers and fifteen type 2 workers will complete work in = 4 × 1/120 + 15 × 1/300 = 1/30 + 1/20 = 1/12

∴ It will take 12 days to complete the work.
