Formula Used:

Time taken = (Difference between distance covered with and without stoppages) / (Distance covered without stoppage)

Calculation:

Distance covered in an hour without stoppage = 48 km

Distance covered in an hour with stoppage = 36 km

Due to stoppages it covers (48 – 36) = 12 km less

⇒ Time taken to cover 12 km = 12 / 48 × 60 = 15 minutes

∴ Bus stops for 15 minutes per hour.
