GIVEN:

Total students in the class = 16

CALCULATION:

Let total chocolates = 10x

Chocolates given to monitor = 10x × (1/10) = x

Chocolates given to each student = x – 2

Total students excluding monitor = 16 – 1 = 15

Now,

Total chocolates = x + 15(x – 2) = 10x

⇒ x + 15x – 30 = 10x

⇒ 6x = 30

⇒ x = 5

∴ Total distributed chocolates = 10x = 50
